Welcome to Starfleet Special Operations Command (SSOCOM).   Our mission is to provide support to sector CINCs and other UFP agencies by preparing Special Operations Forces to successfully conduct special operations and covert actions.

Special Operations uses small units in military actions that focus on strategic or operational objectives. These operations require units with combinations of trained specialized personnel, equipment, and tactics that exceed the routine capabilities of conventional military forces. These operations are distinguished from conventional operations by being politically sensitive missions where only the best-equipped and most proficient forces must be deployed to avoid detection and possible mission failure that can result in damage to UFP prestige and interests.

Responsibilities of SSOCOM include:

Special Operations Forces are mentally superior, highly trained and physically tough.   Their duties may include diplomacy, warfare, and intelligence, all in widely differing and often hostile environments.   These duties call for a different kind of warrior - creative, motivated, and above all, dedicated.   They are the heirs of such renowned units as the Green Berets, the SEALs, the Red Daggers, and the Shadowwalkers.   They are the finest, most elite fighting force in the galaxy.
