Spacedock / Dokcing Ring / U.S.S. Centurian Greeting / | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Welcome to the USS Centurian. As your captain, it's my duty to fill your head with stories of excitement and intrigue, daring missions and glorious encounters. Since the days of seafaring vessels, after all, those who have answered the call of the sea - or the void, as the case may be - have dreamt of glory and excitement. While there typically is plenty of glory and excitement in each career, these are typically kept from getting too close together by long periods of mundane cruises and attending to one's duty to their best of one's ability. I cannot promise you glory, excitement or intrigue. I can, however, promise you a ship where your shipmates will not let you down. A ship of the type of shipmates that you will be able to look back upon fondly while inflating those fleet stories for the benefit of your grandchildren. I can promise you tasks and cruises that might be not be bone-shaking exciting (though often are) but are the kinds of tasks and cruises that have held this Starfleet - and every other fleet before her - together to serve the citizens and the powers that be from time immemorial. I can promise you duty with honor, and honor with duty. We Irish have a saying - actually, we Irish have a great many sayings, but the one I'd like to particularly mention now is: Cuimhnichibh air na daoine bho'n d'thainig sibh Welcome aboard, Shipmate. Captain Colin J Fitzgerald
