Welcome to the Ramesaran Embassy

Ramesaran Dynastra

Political Seat of Power: Rames (pronounced ra mes)
Governmental Leader: Presumed to be Warmaster Gruntellis
Minister of State: Minister Jalana (formerly a Usurper)
Leading Ambassador: Emissary Korin Marconis

Physiology and Appearance

The average Ramesaran is of similar height and weight to humans. The Ramesar are somewhat cat-like, which can is evident in their eyes. Just barely visable in the dark, the round eyes with slit iris rather than round, glow a slight blue. Next to nothing is known about their lifespans and physiology. Only the most basic medical scans were permitted in the most recent contact with them. The exact appearance of the Ramesar can only be extrapolated, as they wear clokes or body armour that cover the entire body. It has been noticed that they are adverse to bright light and extreames in temperature. Most likely the after effects of a bioweapon that was used against them some time ago. They have some telepathic ability, but direct physical contact must be maintained to any serious connection to be made.

Homeworld

Rames was the center of their empire both geographically and governmentally. As they have just recently reclaimed it, little is information is available. However, the Federation has observers and an ambassador on the planet, and more information may be forthcoming.

History

The Ramesar are an old humanoid race whose society has been greatly effected by numerous wars and rises and declines in power. They once claimed dominion over a large portion of the known galaxy, but those days are over. Most of what is known about them comes from a group of people that the Ramesar call the Usurpers - a group that took over their homeworld after a bitter war some 500 years ago. Recent diplomatic contact has proved much of what was known about them to be false. One such example is that they are technology adverse. This could not be farther from the truth. It was the Usurpers that were afraid of technology, but only because they did not fully understand the Ramesar technology which was left behind. We have learned that they are a peace loving people, who fashion themselves as older brothers to the 'younger' races. A mentor so to speak. They are highly advanced technologically, and have strong ties to traditions. While generally a peace loving society, they will give a fight if they must. However, they have an odd view on war. When war is called for, they bring it completely in every sense of the term. (Think General Wm. T. Sherman, US Army US Civil War).

Culture

They have long and proud history, which was rooted mainly in an active military. Militaristic tendencies are visible in everyday society even today. They abhor disorder, dishonesty, and lawlessness. While a peace loving people, who say that they will go out of their way to keep the peace, they have a long history of using military force when deemed necessary. However, it should be noted that they do not share the typical view of war. In their view, war is an extreme measure to be taken. As such when the Ramesar go to war it is an entirely terrible thing.
